How do I publish a page so people can see it?
Publishing a page is important because any pages that are not in the 'Hot Topic' or 'Public' states are not listed in the County Topics navigation. Whether or not you publish an item is how you control what your navigation structure looks like. In order to publish a content item, navigate to the page or file you wish to publish. If it is a folder, go to the folder contents listing by clicking on the contents tab and have that folder's contents being shown. Now in the upper right corner of the editing box, you should see a place to click that says the state of the object (example, State: Visible). Click on this and from the pull down menu (or subsequent page that shows up) select the Publish option.
Your content is now published and will be shown in the County Topics navigation. Note that you must publish the folders that contain pages or documents in order to be able to find them on your site still. So if you have a folder for Community that contains three published files, but the folder itself is not published, you will not see those files in your navigation.
